In 1927, Robert L. Brews began his business as a manufacturer’s representative By 1950 theCompanyy operated a branch in Edmonton to expand the market focus on all Industrial users of electrical control and apparatus By the mid-1960s theCompanyy started transforming to a full distributor and developed the product offering to cover all the electrical equipment needs of industrial users At the same time the Industrial and Utility divisions were created.
In April of 2006, Roynat Capital, StoneBridge, and Management Shareholders acquired R.L. Brews from Bob Brews, the third-generation owner who was looking to exit the business and pursue new career opportunities. The company name was changed to Brews Supply Ltd to reflect better the change in business ownership and a new vision.
StoneBridge was actively involved in the Company’s business, financial, and strategic plans, as well as in management recruitment.
In 2011, WESCO Distribution Canada LP acquired Brews Supply Ltd. Wesco (NYSE: WCC), is a publicly traded Fortune 500 holding company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with annual sales of approximately $7.5 billion and approximately 9,200 employees.
Michael Lang served as the corporation’s Director, and Gary Lang was the lead from the StoneBridge group, working with management and the investment group.
